Bracket Performace

Standard-Duty Underpinning Brackets for Helical Pier Foundation Systems

U.S. Patents 5,011,336; 5,120,163; 5,213,448

For use with 11/2" and 13/4" square shaft anchors, as specified below, each bracket is identified by the size stamped on the vertical gusset. Brackets also may be used in conjunction with Uplift-Restraint Bracket (see Bulletin 01-9502).

Bracket comes complete with the hardware required for assembly of bracket; does not include concrete anchor bolts.

The lifting assembly, consisting of the underpinning bracket and jacking tool, is designed to lift with hydraulic jack assist as shown below. However, if jack assist is not available, lifting can be done with the bolts of the bracket. The recommended method is to use a hydraulic jack with a load gauge to avoid exceeding the ratings of the brackets.

*The capacity of Chance Helical Pier Foundation Systems is a function of many individual elements, including the capacity of the foundation, bracket, anchor shaft, helix plate and bearing stratum, as well as the strength of the foundation-to-bracket connection and the quality of anchor installation. The last row of the table shows typical capacities of the Chance Helical Pier Foundation Systems that are achievable under normal conditions. Achievable capacities could be higher or lower depending on the above factors.
